About
My name is Teri, and this is my blog.
I’m 26, and live in Chicago with my husband David, and my best friend Leah. Cooking and writing are two hobbies of mine, so it only seems natural to combine them.
I seem to be collecting cookbooks, so a lot of what you will see here are recipes adapted from the books in my collection, but I also look for recipes on the internet, and in the several magazines that come to my house. I enjoy watching the Food Network, as well as other food-centric shows (mostly Top Chef!) and subscribe to Bon Apetit magazine, Cooking Light magazine, and Food and Wine magazine as well as Food Network magazine and Every Day with Rachel Ray. My favorite cookbook is the Barefoot Contessa’s Back to Basics, mostly because I find that it never lets me down. I’ve lost about 30 pounds in the last 6 months or so following Weight Watchers, so most of the more recent recipes are a little healthier. (Most, but not all. Everything in moderation, right?) If you’re interested in healthy, lighter fare, check out the recipes tagged “healthy.”
I really enjoy cooking, and am genuinely disappointed when I don’t get the chance to make dinner. I find making a meal relaxing, and I really enjoy letting other people enjoy what I’ve made (if that makes any sense!). I’ve been blogging for over a year now, and have enjoyed every bit of it.
The food part comes natural to me, and the writing is almost as easy, but the photography is something I’m still working on improving. There are some pictures here that come out just great, and others that could use some work, but I think they’ve been getting better as time goes on. Practice makes perfect, and all of that!
I hope that you like what you see here, and that it inspires to get in the kitchen and try something new.
